JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Housekeeping Attendant / Room Attendant

Department: Housekeeping
Location: Hotel (Turkey)
Reports To: Housekeeping Supervisor / Executive Housekeeper

1) JOB PURPOSE

To maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of guest rooms and assigned hotel areas, ensuring a comfortable, safe, and high-quality stay experience for all guests.

2) KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Guest Room Cleaning & Setup

  • Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel standards and SOPs.
  • Make beds and replace linens following hotel procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms (toilet, shower, sink, mirrors, floors).
  • Refill and replace guest amenities (towels, toiletries, tissues, water, etc.).
  • Ensure rooms are properly arranged and ready for guest use (“Ready to Sell”).
  • Handle minibar restocking (if applicable) and report any discrepancies.

B. Public Area & Corridor Maintenance

  • Clean assigned public areas such as corridors, elevators, lobby sections, or staircases as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping pantry, trolley, and storage areas.

C. Equipment & Inventory Control

  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
  • Maintain housekeeping trolley and ensure sufficient supplies at all times.
  • Report any damaged tools, missing items, or supply shortages to the supervisor.

D. Reporting & Coordination

  • Update room status accurately: Dirty, Clean, Vacant, Occupied, Out of Order.
  • Report maintenance issues (air conditioning, lighting, plumbing, furniture damage) to Engineering.
  • Handle guest lost-and-found items according to hotel policy.
  • Coordinate with Front Office regarding room readiness and guest requests.

E. Guest Service & Professional Conduct

  • Respond politely and promptly to guest requests (extra towels, amenities, laundry pickup, etc.).
  • Maintain a professional appearance, grooming, and respectful behavior at all times.
  • Respect guest privacy and follow security and confidentiality procedures.

3) PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (Simple KPI)

  • Achieve daily room cleaning targets (example: 12–18 rooms/day depending on hotel).
  • Maintain high-quality cleaning standards with minimal guest complaints.
  • Accurate room status reporting and strong attention to detail.
  • Punctuality, discipline, and professional work attitude.

4) QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum high school graduate (hospitality background is an advantage).
  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience is preferred (fresh graduates are welcome).
  • Physically fit and able to work long hours standing, lifting, and moving linen.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, honest, and fast learner.
  • Basic English communication skills are a strong advantage.

6) WORKING HOURS

  • Shift-based schedule (morning / afternoon, depending on hotel operation)
